The first electrical lights were turned on in Douglas on May 26, 1905. Currently, the City of Douglas' electrical distribution system consists of 132.15 mAttaching Each Bulb 3-3-2021 (7)iles of high voltage primary lines.  

The Electric Division is responsible for distributing electric service to more than 5,850 residents and maintaining over 3,160 street and security lights.

The Electric Division is a member of the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG) and Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG).
