[ARCHIVED] COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS VEHICLE LUNCH & LEARN WILL BE HELD MARCH 18, 2015

The City of Douglas Natural Gas Department, along the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia, is busy preparing for Douglas’ first Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Lunch & Learn. The Lunch & Learn will be held March 18, 2015 at Central Square Complex located in downtown Douglas. The Lunch & Learn will begin at 10am and will consist of general sessions on topics such as CNG Vehicles & Conversions, Legislation, Regulations, Rebates and Incentives, and a Q & A Lunch panel with City of Douglas officials and partners; Lewis Construction and Waste Industries. A tour of the Douglas’ CNG facility is also scheduled for that afternoon.

"We are looking forward to presenting some informative and interesting topics to other government officials and business leaders across our area," says Mike Hudson, Natural Gas Department Director.

The purpose of the Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Lunch & Learn will be to educate and present an opportunity to learn the best approaches and solutions to using natural gas as an alternative fuel. This learning session will feature strategies for both automotive and commercial vehicles from key operators, driving the industry forward. Compressed Natural Gas can be used in the place of gasoline, diesel fuel and propane/LPG. It is a domestic energy supply with 98% of its supply being produced in North America and is cleaner for the environment. Any existing gasoline vehicle can be converted to a dual-fuel (gasoline/CNG) vehicle.
