[ARCHIVED] NATURAL GAS LEAK ON COUNTY LINE ROAD, DOUGLAS, GA

EMERGENCY NOTICE:
CITY OF DOUGLAS NATURAL GAS LINE RUPTURED
March 22, 2014

The City of Douglas would like to notify residents along County Line Road in Douglas, Georgia of that a natural gas line has ruptured. There is no immediate danger or threats to anyone at this time. The Douglas Fire Department and workers of the City Natural Gas Department are on site and have contained the line.

A call has been made by the City to Southern Natural, who will arrive shortly to investigate, access, and repair the leak. The city of Douglas Fire Department and Natural Gas Workers will continue monitoring until Southern Natural arrives to conduct further investigations.

Because of the leak, County Line Road is temporarily closed. Depending on the outcome of Southern Natural’s investigation, conditions may warrant natural gas service to be cut off to residential, business, and industrial customers for a period of time until the line is repaired.

The City of Douglas apologizes for the inconveniences and disruptions of services that may occur. We will keep information updated to citizens until this emergency is ended.
