The City of Douglas has received a request for a height variance for a multi-family (apartment) subdivision development by Pinecrest Village, LP, that will provide approximately 48 dwelling units. The location of the subdivision request is land parcels D005 035 & D005 036, which will be addressed 611 W. Walker Street. Currently, the vacant lots lie next to Farm Bureau, located at 417 W. Walker Street.
The Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission will have a regular meeting on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM held at City Hall 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533 in the Council Chambers, to discuss the proposed height variance.
A public hearing will be held before the Mayor and City Commissioners, to approve or deny the height variance request on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 6:00 PM held at City Hall 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533 in the Council Chambers.
Anyone interested or has feedback regarding the variance request should be in appearance at the said meetings on the above-stated dates. A copy of the variance request may be reviewed at City Hall in the Community Development Department, Planning & Zoning Division, 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Holiday hours may differ. The review may take place between now through July 28, 2025 by 5:00 PM.
