Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-540, a special election shall be held in City of Douglas, Coffee County to fill the vacancy of the Ward 2 commissioner seat. The special election will be held on November 5, 2024.
Qualifying for the special election shall be held at the Coffee County Elections Office located at 321 S Pearl Ave. Douglas, GA beginning at 8:30 am on Monday July 22, 2024 and ending at 12:00 noon Friday July 26, 2024. The qualifying fee shall be $216.00.
All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on October 7, 2024, or online by 12:00 midnight on October 7, 2024. Early voting will be October 15, 2024 – November 1, 2024. Polls will be open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm Election Day.
Should a runoff election be required, such runoff will be held on December 3, 2024.
