[ARCHIVED] FRIENDLY HOLIDAY COMPETITION - THE N.I.P. CHRISTMAS HOME DECORATING CONTEST RETURNS!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around Douglas neighborhoods and the Neighborhood Involvement Program (N.I.P.) is happy to announce the return of the Christmas Home Decorating Contest. Residents who think they have the most festive outdoor décor are invited to participate in the N.I.P. Christmas Home Decorating Contest. The most attractively decorated homes in each City ward will be judged and a winner will be selected for each ward.

“We had great participation last year and we are proud to offer our citizens this program again,” says City Manager Terrell Jacobs. “This year, we will see if the winners from last year will be able to handle the friendly competition of their neighbors. With winners in all six wards, we are looking forward to see Douglas neighborhoods light up for the Holiday Season.”

Register now through December 17, 2012 at City Hall located at 224 W. Bryan Street. Outdoor decorations must be completed by December 17, 2012. One winner in each Ward will receive a prize and be recognized at the City Commission Meeting on December 20, 2012. Registration is free and you must live in the City limits to participate.
