Notice is hereby given that the ordinance herein captioned will be read for the first time at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Douglas, Georgia, held on February 26, 2024, at 6:00 P.M., at the City Hall Council Room, 302 S. Madison Avenue, Douglas, Georgia.
“AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY OF DOUGLAS CODE OF ORDINANCES; PART II; CHAPTER 2; ARTICLE V BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS; DIVISION 3 MAYOR’S YOUTH COUNCIL; SEC. 2-650 CREATED; AND TO PROVIDE FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”
The amended ordinance will allow youth appointments by the Mayor to be an unlimited number of youth members, change the age requirement to ages 13-19, change the date of appointments to August of each year, and change the expiration date of terms to June of each year.
This ordinance will be read for the second time, followed by a public hearing on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 6 PM at the City Hall in the Commission Chambers, 302 S. Madison Avenue, Douglas, Georgia. After the public hearing, the ordinance will be voted upon at the regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Douglas, Georgia.
