The City of Douglas will hold a community meeting and accept housing applications for a possible FY 2024 Community Development Block Grant Neighborhood Revitalization Program at a special meeting to be held at The Lighthouse Church of God (1303 Leader Street, Douglas, Georgia) at 6:00 p.m. on January 18, 2024 with application intake continuing until filled for the following neighborhoods only:
Possible FY 2024 CDBG Project Area: Roughly bounded by E. College Park Dr. (N), McDonald Road (E), Pine Street & Sears Street (S) and Leader Street (W). A map will be available at the meeting to determine if you are in this area.
The City of Douglas is applying for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for up to $1,000,000 to provide decent, safe, energy efficient and affordable housing to low-moderate income individuals. The City will first target residents living in owner-occupied substandard housing within the above target area, although assistance for renter occupied housing may be available.
