The South Georgia Outdoor Expo will be held at Central Square Complex in downtown Douglas, August 24, 2012 from 1pm-7pm and August 25, 2012 9am-5pm. As a special SURPRISE celebrity appearance, event organizers will present the History Channel’s Swamp People, Joe LaFont and Tommy Chauvin on Saturday, August 25, from 10am-2pm.
On the History Channel reality show, Swamp People, Joe LaFont is a veteran of the marsh and a steadfast swamper focused on bagging his quota of gators. Joe and his stepson, Tommy, have hunted together since Tommy was a small boy. Working alongside his stepson Tommy, Joe is passing many traditional Cajun secrets to Tommy that he learned from his father. Autographs and photographs will be available on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10am – 2pm.
Along with meeting the Swamp People’s Joe and Tommy, attendees will have the chance to register for giveaways at exhibitor booths. Giveaways will include $500 cash prize (must be present to win), fishing car, 46’ televisions, hunting trips, free droid phones, gas cookers, tool sets, Bass Pro gift cards, Home Alarm installation, rods, lures, knife sets, coolers, and more. Giveaways will be announced on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 4:30pm at the stage area in Exhibit Hall “B”. Just look for the target to get “on target” for some great giveaways!
Hours for the South Georgia Outdoor Expo on Friday, August 24 will be 1pm – 7pm and Saturday, August 25 9am – 5pm.
