Fire up the grills and get ready for the South Georgia Outdoor Expo Backyard BBQ Contest! In conjunction with the South Georgia Outdoor Expo, plans are underway for a backyard barbecue cooking competition. Grilling teams will be putting their smoke in the air as they compete in three categories: Chicken, Ribs, and Apple Pie. This event will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Central Square Complex.
“We’ve seen how well cooking competitors and spectators respond to a barbecue event”, says Georgia Henderson, Central Services Director. “We felt it would be a great partnership to join a cooking competition with the South Georgia Outdoor Expo. So far we’ve received great responses from individuals who are excited about bringing this event back to Douglas. Hopefully this will be an introductory of greater things to come with this event.”
