Public Notice - Sidewalk Improvement Meeting

The City of Douglas, Georgia will hold a public involvement meeting for PI 0015397, Sidewalk Improvements at 4 locations in Douglas, and is requesting the public’s participation.  

This project proposes to install concrete curb and gutter, 5-ft concrete sidewalk, driveways, ADA ramps, and striping, as well as any necessary drainage improvements.  

  • Area 1 of the project begins on East Gordon Street at the intersection with North Coweta Avenue and continues east to the intersection with North Dewey Avenue, continues south on North Dewey Avenue to the intersection with East Franklin Street, continues west on East Franklin Street to the intersection with North Coweta, and finally continues north on North Coweta Avenue to the intersection with East Gordon Street.  
  • Area 2 of the project begins on SR 158/East Baker Highway at the intersection with Lakeview Avenue and continues east to the intersection with SR 135/Bowen Mill Road S.  
  • Area 3 of the project begins on South Gaskins Avenue at the intersection with Pinecrest Drive and continues north to the intersection with SR 135/Bowens Mill Road SE.   
  • Area 4 of the project begins on South Fales Avenue at the intersection with East Bryan Street, continues south to the intersection with Spooner Road, and continues east on Spooner Road to the intersection with Lupo Lane.  

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed project, ask questions, and comment on the proposal. The Public Involvement Meeting will be conducted on September 28, 2022, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Community Development Department located at the Ashley Slater House (211 S. Gaskin Avenue). The Public Involvement Meeting will be informal and the public is invited to attend anytime during these hours. There will be no formal presentation.
