[ARCHIVED] CITY IS SOLICITING SEALED BIDS FOR DC 4 AIRCRAFT LOCATED AT DOUGLAS MUNICIPAL GENE CHAMBERS AIRPORT

The City of Douglas is soliciting sealed bids for a DC 4 Aircraft located at the Douglas Municipal Gene Chambers Airport. 

Bids will be received by the City of Douglas Community Development Department at City Hall located at 224 East Bryan Street, Douglas, GA  31533 or P. O. Box 470, Douglas, GA  31534, until 2:00 PM on June 12, 2017, at which time to be officially opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chambers.

The DC 4 Aircraft will be sold as is for scrap metal and/or parts. The successful bidder must remove the aircraft in its entirety.  The successful bidder will have thirty (30) days, upon notification of bid approval, to remove the aircraft unless other arrangements are made with the city. 

Bids must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE with notation “Bid Enclosed – DC 4 Aircraft” outside of the envelope.

The aircraft is located on the south end of the East Ramp.  Additional information may be obtained by calling Airport Manager Howard Whidden at 912-384-1409 or the Community Development Office at (912) 389-3433.

The City of Douglas reserves the right to accept and/or reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities.
