[ARCHIVED] Elevated Water Storage Tank to Undergo Interior Cleaning and Inspections

On April 5th, 2017, the elevated water storage tank on Bowens Mill Rd SE will be drained for interior cleaning and inspections.  During this time there is a possibility of discolored water due to changes of flow within the water system.  This is caused by iron deposits inside the water mains being dislodged.  Although unsightly, the discoloration does not pose a health risk however, it may stain clothing or plumbing fixtures.  It is suggested to run water until it’s clear prior to cooking or washing clothing. Potential affected areas include Bojo Ella subdivision, Golf Club subdivision, Eastside Park neighborhood, and residence and businesses on the southeast side of perimeter road. If you experience discolored water during this time please contact the City of Douglas Call Center at 311 or the Water Department at 912-389-3447.  Please direct all after hour’s calls to 384-3302 or 311. We kindly request your patience through this process.
