[ARCHIVED] CSX RAILROAD CROSSING REPAIRS WILL CONTINUE

The City of Douglas has been contacted by CSX regarding railroad repairs in Douglas. Several repairs will be ongoing projects for CSX within the city of Douglas.

“The City would like to ask all citizens to be patient with the repairs,” says City Manager Terrell Jacobs. “Also, we would like to remind citizens that this is a process that the City has no control over and we will update citizens as soon as we are updated by CSX.”

The paving crew will be returning to rail crossings at S. Daughtry Avenue, S. College Avenue, and S. Manilla Avenue to extend the asphalt outward and create a smaller grade for crossing vehicles. Crossings at S. Gaskin Avenue, S. McDonald Avenue, and S. Fale Avenue are temporary. CSX has plans to bring up the side track to match the grade of the main line. This should take place within the next 5 months.
