[ARCHIVED] MAIN STREET HOMETOWN HARVEST: A SPOOK-TA-CULAR EVENT!

The annual Hometown Harvest will take place on Thursday, October 29, from
4 PM to 7:30 PM on the vacant lot adjacent to City Hall located on Madison Avenue. Kids play area will be from 4PM – 7:30PM, candy distribution will be from 4 PM – 6 PM; registration for the kids costume contest will begin at 4 PM and end promptly at 5:30 PM. The costume contest will begin at 6:00 PM with winners being announced at 7:30 PM. The age for those participating in trick-or-treating and costume contest is 12 years of age and under. Participation for the costume contest will be free of charge. For a small fee kids can also enjoy a pony rides and other activities.

“We are looking for another great year for this event,” says Pattie Merritt, Main Street Coordinator. “It is a pleasure to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for kids to trick or treat.”

All community agencies that would like to participate in this year’s Hometown Harvest should contact the City of Douglas Main Street office at 912-384-5161.
