[ARCHIVED] DOUGLAS FIRE DEPARTMENT AND SOUTHWIRE/PROJECT GIFT TEAM UP FOR TOYS FOR TOTS

As many citizens of Douglas are busy marking off their shopping lists and preparing for celebrations with their family and friends, the Douglas Fire Department hope that people will add one more gift to their list for a needy child in Douglas and Coffee County. For the 4th year, Douglas Fire Department, Southwire/Project Gift, and other local businesses are teaming up to host a Toys for Tots toy drive for children in Douglas and Coffee County.

“The Douglas Fire Department is very pleased to partner with Southwire’s Project Gift and local businesses for Toys for Tots,” says Fire Chief Tim White. “When businesses partner together, we can really give back to the community and we hope that this will help children experience the joy of the holiday season.”

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at these participating sponsors: Ameris Bank, Douglas National Bank, First National Bank of Coffee County, Premium Waters, Southwire and Douglas Fire Station located at 123 Cherry Street through Saturday, December 14, 2013. Once toys are collected, the Fire Department will distribute the toys to needy children throughout Douglas and Coffee County. Toys can be for boys and girls, up to 12 years. Families wishing to be considered to receive toys should contact the Douglas Fire Department at 912-384-4815. Those families will be notified if they are selected for participation.
