City of Douglas offices are becoming more customer friendly with the recent launch of the Customer Care Center. The focus of the Customer Care Center is to provide top customer service care to customers; improve communication between customers and City departments; and to track and expedite service request tickets between customers and city departments.
During the hours of 7:00am – 9:00pm, Monday – Friday, customers can dial a three-digit number, 311, to connect to a Service Operator. The Customer Care Center will serve as the communication link to provide timely and consistent handling of customer needs through a friendly, motivated City employee. Service Operators will be available from 7:00am – 9:00pm to answer general calls to the City, process service requests and any utility related needs for connections and service. Calls made between the hours of 9:00pm – 7:00am, Monday – Sunday, and on holidays will be answered by the Douglas Fire Department. Instead of dialing 311 between 9pm – 7am only, customers will need to dial 384-3302. The Fire Department will only process calls that are emergencies related to utilities involving water, electric, gas, and public works. All other requests will need to be made during normal business hours to the 311 number from 7:00am – 9:00pm.
The City of Douglas would like for customers to know that when calling from a cellular phone that the three-digit call to 311 only works with Windstream, Alltel, and Verizon customers at this time. We do apologize for any inconveniences, but customers can still receive the same customer service care by dialing the full number, which is 384-3302.
For more information, please dial 311 or (912)384-3302.
