The Hometown Harvest will be take place on Thursday, October 31st, from 4 PM to 8 PM on the vacant lot adjacent to City Hall located on Madison Avenue. Event will include a play area for kids from 4PM – 8PM, candy distribution from 4 PM – 6 PM. For a small fee, kids can also enjoy a pony ride, petting zoo, and kiddie train rides. Registration for the kids costume contest will begin at 4 PM and end promptly at 5:30 PM. The costume contest will begin at 6 PM with winners being announced at 7 PM. Participation for the costume contest will be free of charge. The age limit for those participating in trick-or-treating and costume contest is 12 years of age and under.
The following community partners will be participating at the Hometown Harvest: City of Douglas Parks and Recreation, Douglas Police and Fire Departments, 311 Call Center, Coffee County School Nutrition Program, Nightingale Services, Aaron’s Rental Center, Perpetual Praise and Worship Ministries, Coffee Correctional Facility, Mr. Rooter Plumbing, U.S. Martial Arts, Southern Rural Women’s Initiative for Economic and Social Justice, Marguerite Casey Foundation, Girl Scouts Magnolia Service Unit, Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Mediastream, Dresses and Dreams, ETC, and Malcolm’s Drug Store.
