[ARCHIVED] Public Notice: Public Hearing for Rezoning of Parcel #0098 139 – Vacant Lot Off of West Baker Hwy.

The Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission has received an application to rezone Land Parcel #0098 139, totaling 3.35 acres off of W. Baker Hwy., from General Commercial (G-C) to Light Industrial (M-1). The applicant wishes to rezone to M-1 to develop a light industrial business.

The Planning Commission will have its regular meeting regarding this request on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at City Hall, located at 302 S Madison Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533. The outcome of the Planning Commission’s recommendation(s) will go before the Mayor & City Commissioners.

The Mayor & City Commissioners will hold the first (1st) reading for this request on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 302 S Madison Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533. The second (2nd) reading and public hearing will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 6:00 pm, at City Hall, 302 S Madison Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533.

A copy of the rezoning application may be reviewed at the City of Douglas Community Development Department, Planning & Zoning Division, 302 S Madison Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Holiday hours may differ. This viewing may take place until July 17, 2025, 5 p.m.
