[ARCHIVED] Public Hearing of a Zoning Variance Application at 401 Shirley Avenue

The City of Douglas has received a request for a zoning variance/conditional use at 401 Shirley Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533. The applicant, Athena Rogers, on behalf of the property's owners, Fletcher Oil, seeks permission to operate a retail center that includes arts/photography, medical/professional, and general commercial in the Light Industrial (M-1) District, in accordance with the provisions of the City of Douglas Zoning Ordinance.

The Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission will hold a regular meeting to discuss this request on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers, located at 302 S Madison Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533. 

If approved by the Planning Commission, the request, along with a Public Hearing, will be made before the Mayor and City Commissioners for consideration, approving or denying the request on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 6:00 PM at City Hall, located at 302 S Madison Avenue, Douglas, Georgia 31533.

Anyone interested or has feedback regarding the conditional use request should be in appearance at the said meetings on the above-stated dates. A copy of the conditional use request may be reviewed at City Hall in the Community Development Department, Planning Division, 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Holiday hours may differ. The review may take place between now and June 10, 2024, by 5:00 p.m
