The City of Douglas would like to inform its citizens about the upcoming improvements that will be made to Wheeler Park starting from Monday, March 11, 2024. These improvements are aimed at enhancing the park's accessibility and will include the installation of new sidewalks, making it easier for everyone to access the park and playground equipment. During this period, we apologize for any inconvenience the construction work may cause.
“Making these improvements will help provide access to everyone in our parks,” says Mayor Tony Paulk. “We are especially thankful to the Community Foundation of Coffee County for partnering with us to make these improvements.”
Certain areas will be inaccessible to the public as the park undergoes improvements. Please refrain from entering any areas that are under construction or where trees have been removed to make room for new equipment or access to the park. Special thanks to the Community Foundation of Coffee County for their generous support in purchasing new ADA playground equipment.
