[ARCHIVED] PUBLIC HEARING New Proposed Boundary for the Development District/Central Business District

The City of Douglas and Downtown Development Authority is proposing new boundary for the Development District, also known as the Central Business District.

The Downtown Development Authority will hold a Stakeholders meeting to discuss the proposed new boundary and map on Monday, November 6, 2023, 5:30 p.m. at the Atrium Event Center for persons within the boundaries of North Hwy. 441 (McNeil Drive) to South Hwy. 441 (near McDonalds), West (Magnolia Street) to East (Gaskin Avenue) and George Washington Carver Shopping Center.

Following the Stakeholders Meeting, the request along with a public hearing, will be made before the Mayor and City Commissioners for consideration, approval, or denial of the proposed new boundary at the regular City Commission meeting on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, located at 302 S. Madison Avenue, Douglas, Georgia 31533.

Anyone interested or has feedback regarding the proposed new boundary of the Development District/Central Business District request should be in appearance at the said public hearing on the above-stated date.

A copy of the proposed new boundary map may be reviewed at the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Offices, located at 114 N. Peterson Avenue, Suite 205 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Holiday hours may differ. Offices will be closed on November 10, 2023, for Veterans Day. The review may take place between now through November 13, 2023 by 5:00p.m.
