KEEP DOUGLAS BEAUTIFUL HOLDS SUCCESSFUL PARK CLEANUP
The Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee conducted a beautification project at Jackie Allen Park on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 9:30 am-12Noon. Volunteers from the community and descendants of Ms. Jackie Allen assisted in improvement efforts at the park.
Keep Douglas Beautiful had an amazing time working together on the beautification event at Jackie Allen Park,” says Dinitra Williams, KDB President. “Thank you to the over 30 volunteers that helped make the event a great success! We appreciate everyone for their commitment to keeping Douglas beautiful.”
Community and neighborhood volunteers of all ages gave back to their community by helping pressure wash the building, re-paint areas of the building, and clean up brush and overgrowth in the park. Jackie Allen Park is a more attractive neighborhood place thanks to all efforts of the volunteers and committee.
Special thanks to Lowe’s and Sherwin Williams who donated the paint and painting supplies for the project. Additional thanks to the Parks and Recreation Department, Community Development, Mayor's Youth Council, Teen Court, Customer Care, Ambitious Young Men-AYM, and the descendants of Ms. Jackie Allen; Ms. Gloria Davis and Qwaima Clark.
